Revolution supports British Rally Championship
Revolution Wheels are delighted to be associated with Britain’s premier rally series, the Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship (BRC). The company was formed in 1967 and has supplied wheels for many leading competitors including Pentti Airikkala, Stig Blomqvist, Russell Brookes, Tapio Laukkanen, Austin McHale, Alister, Colin and Jimmy McRae, Tony Pond and Ari Vatanen.
Revolution Wheels is an associate sponsor of the six event BRC, which offers events in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man. The finale in November is Wales Rally GB, which is the British round of the World Rally Championship. This series is a focused arena for up and coming talented drivers from around the world, attracting car manufacturers and top teams.
The BRC will be an excellent platform to launch our new “ALLU-LITE” program. This utilises the most up to date technology in casting & rim forming enabling a 25% reduction in weight whilst maintaining ductility and increased strength. The first sizes to be manufactured will be 7.0 x 15 & 8.0 x 18. Other sizes will follow later in the year.
Sales Director Warren McKiernan, who himself is a rally co-driver said; “This is going to be a very exciting year for our company. It is great to be involved with the BRC in its 50th year, we know how important it is to have stability as Revolution celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2007.” adding, “To support private teams Revolution Wheels are offering discounted prices on its range of wheels across all classes to registered competitors. As an added incentive five wheels will be awarded on each event to the most outstanding performance by the crew running on Revolution Wheels.”

Revolutionary changes for national championships
Revolution Wheels, one of the leading manufacturers of Motorsport wheels have put their support behind the top British national rally championships as they celebrate their 41st anniversary with the introduction of the all new “ALLU-LITE” rally wheel range. This process utilises both casting & rim forming to give improved strength whilst maintaining optimum ductility & up to 25% weight reduction. The first sizes to be manufactured using the “ALLU-LITE” technology will be 7.0 x 15 & 8.0 x 18 which will be available in April 2008. Additional sizes will be added to the range during the year.
Revolution Wheels are supporting both the Pirelli National Gravel Rally Championship and the County Saab Scottish Rally Championship in 2008 as the company aims to become the market leader in supplying rally wheels country wide. The nature of this support will include discounted prices to registered competitors, free wheels to a star driver on each round and special prizes for marshals on every event.
Sales director Warren McKiernan, himself an enthusiastic rally co-driver, is determined to put something back into Motorsport;
Rallying is not a cheap sport, so if we can offer competitors an affordable product that is both strong, durable, and yet light weight, then I’m sure everyone will be more than happy.
The “star driver” on every round will be the driver, competing on Revolution Wheels, whose event has been deemed “most oustanding” by a judging panel consisting of the championship co-ordinators and a representative of Revolution Wheels. Their prize will be 5 free Revolution Wheels of the size & design that they are currently using. On top of this the leading driver and co-driver on Revolution Wheels at the end of the year will receive the Revolution Wheels Trophy. As well as these fabulous prizes, all registered competitors will be offered the opportunity to purchase Revolution wheels at a reduced price.
Further to the aforementioned incentives all registered drivers will receive a rally bag whilst a further 5 rally bags will be put into a marshals draw on each round ensuring that these most valuable of volunteers are not left out either.
ANCRO spokesman Rick Smith commented
Revolution Wheels are part of the fabric of British Rallying, in my days of co-driving (some years ago), I always felt safe if my drivers car had them fitted! So now it is even more pleasing to welcome Revolution to the Pirelli MSA gravel Rally Championship, as a key support marketing partner

Swann flies on Red Kite.
Revolution Wheels backed Rob Swann overcame early dramas to pilot his Geoff Jones Motorsport run Subaru Impreza N12 to fourth overall on last weekends Red Kite Stages.
Guided by Revolution wheels Sales Director Warren McKiernan, who was co driving on only his second ever event, Rob set a string of top 5 overall times throughout the tough and treacherous rally. With the rally using some of the famous Wales Rally GB stages such as Crychan and Halfway Rob was in familiar territory. This was perhaps just as well as Warren, who co-drove Rob to third overall on the Tempest Rally back in November, admitted to struggling with the notes.
Warren: The notes we used this weekend were a slightly different format. That coupled with a few early problems heightened the pressure and so I struggled a little bit. However Rob keeps amazing me with his skill behind the wheel!
Rob: I think Warren struggled a bit today, but this rally is not known for being easy. We had one or two dramas in the beginning but once we got going everything went well. I really enjoyed the stages, and the weather just made it more interesting!
The Subaru will now be totally re prepared and is currently up for sale as Rob looks to upgrade to a latest specification Subaru Impreza N14, which he hopes to receive in time for the 2008 British Rally Championship season opener, the Pirelli Rally.
